Born in Sanmen, China (1997).
Lives and works in Amsterdam.

pàn qi creates installations and performances where viewers can wander along, both bodily and imaginarily. Their work often originates from an interest in how an individual intuitively perceives the self in relation to time, memory and consciousness. By using poetic texts, paintings and drawings, meditative bodies, and subtle sounds, they bring a subdued undertone to the visual and atmospherical quality of the work, inviting the audience into a self-reflective realm where they may present their own thoughts as a component of the work. Preferring fragile materials and mobile constructions, they seek to internalise the undetermined, transient and multiplicitous aspects of living into the process of making and presenting.
